Stayed for overnight on the way to another destination. One of the main criteria was proximity to autobahn and free parking lot. The automated check in worked smoothly. The room was comfortable, spacious and nicely equipped. The beds and pillows were comfortable - we had a good rest on the way. On the second floor there is a kitchen where one can get a pizza (self-cooking) and a drink for a very affordable prize. It was actually very tasty. We had a good rest and continued the trip refreshed.

    In theory Holzkirchen is the perfect location with good train service to Munich, and then has four branch lines to the touristy south of Bavaria. The town has numerous restaurants, shops etc. But, it is a main commercial centre and is choked with car traffic and is more 'big town' than a tourist destination.
