My stay at Villa First was incredible! Very comfortable, clean and well designed room. The view was more amazing than in the pictures! The personal was very friendly and helpful.     Oh dear... this place may have been great 50+ years ago but...

    Oh dear... this place may have been great 50+ years ago but what a let down. Boarded up restaurants, hardly any people. No atmosphere or vibe in the town at all. It felt so sad and depressing - definitely not worth taking the time out to visit. The train up the mountain was ok but expensive for a short visit - only one bit of the cafe open. Again, all sad and depressing!

    The hotel manager noticed us looking distressed one morning - we had waited 3 days in vain for the airline to deliver our missing luggage- he insisted on driving us 30km to the airport to help us get it at 12PM, and then spent about an hour with us trying get in contact with the elusive local agent. We eventually got it at 22:45!

    We came to see the Drachenburg castle, so the hotel was a good location as it wasn't too far by car and there was free parking at the hotel. The view from our room was pretty nice as well. Staff was friendly and lots to do, I guess.

    Everything, the young lady on reception was so friendly and very efficient although she was very busy. Nothing was too .much trouble. The hotel is fabulous, the breakfast was included in the price.. all very good.
