Amazing 4 days using Meersburg as a base to explore the beautiful villages around lake Konstanz. Meersburg is an incredible medieval town with the oldest inhabited castle in Germany with an intact dungeon. The entire region is surrounded by the lake and vineyards. Lots of lovely swimming spots, plus great cycling and hiking paths. We enjoyed some fabulous meals in Meersburg and tasted some lovely white wines. This area is a hidden gem, lots to see and do. The rooms are spacious, very clean, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom with a nice shower. The location is excellent, right at the entrance to the old town – perfect for exploring Meersburg on foot. The breakfast was good, but I would have liked to see some hot options such as sausages, omelettes, or fried eggs, since it is mainly cold cuts and cold plates.
