It is a beautiful historical city, great for visiting! The best points are: 1. the glass blowing workshop, where YOU can also blow your own vase! 2. the city itself, which is totally cute 3. the red house, a great museum about the rich textile background of the city 4. the mustard mill (next to the ACHAT hotel) 5. the Nazi school, such an important historical piece, close to Monschau, at the entrance of the Eifel park, a total must see!Guest review byMaurizioNetherlands - 10.0

Tiny beautiful town, cozy feeling, friendly people & good food, definitly recommend for dinner: •Am Haller: old style cozy place with good german food and friendly staff. Please note you can only pay with cash here. •Kafe Kaulard: perfect for a nice breakfast/brunch, located in the center with great views; also they have amazing cakes (didnt try but they looked amazing and lots of people came for the cake while we had brunch) You can easily walk through the whole town and some hiking paths close by. Only minus point would be that many places dont accept paying with card but cash only, if you need to go to a cashmachine, its 5km way all up hill.. If you are going to the small town and christmas market, it can be visited in a full day. We arrived on a Sunday when the christmas market was active, but the very next day, everything was closed. Monschau is a postcard perfect small town in a gully. There are some hilly roads in and out and about. The architecture is lovely, the presentation of the houses almost too shiny and pretty. It’s close to the Haller Ruïne (which offers a great view of the town) and Burg Monschau, as well as the old town of Monschau. It’s important to be able to walk up and down hill to enjoy these sights and to reach te hotel. There’s a couple of parking spaces at the hotel, which you can make a reservations for. We had a nice stay. Rooms were clean, with a little fridge and comfortable beds. The bed was very comfy and the bedroom window faces the creek, which was nice and calm. The kitchen was well equipped and the seating at the table was lovely. Almost too big for one person, still very large for two, very generous space.
