Location: - Near the bus stop (great for those without a car) - Great short hiking trails all around - A small grocery shop nearby - Peaceful and quiet Room: - Free upgrade to the wedding suite. We brought our cat along and it was perfect for her as she loved running around playing in the room. - Bathroom is spacious with a shower and a whirlpool bath tub. As Asians,we just love that there is a bidet:) - There's a large terrace just for us. We couldn't use it unfortunately due to bad weather. Breakfast (included): - Simple continental breakfast, bread, butter, jams, cheese, eggs, coffee, tea, orange and apple juices, fruits. We started our mornings really well with that. We were served graciously by Vitali and his wife. Check-in & check-out: - Flawless and fast; we arrived half an hour early thinking we would just wait at the lounge or walk outside for a bit with our cat, but lovely Elke brought us straight to the room. Checking out was also easy-peasy. Service: - Staff was helpful and nice. We had a minor issue past midnight and they resolved it quickly. - We even had a little surprise from them like chocolates and wine after we got back from our hikes. Hotel is charming with its antiques. We fell in love with the place and the friendliness of its town people :)

Me and my son made a tour around Fränkische Alp to look at castles and other historical landmarks. We also stayed in some of the castles. We were focusing especially on castles with a more "medieval" appearance rather than later palaces. Burg Rabenstein is really a dream castle if one likes these things. It has very spectacular looks on top of a cliff. It has amazing interiors that make you feel like moved in time. In addition to this there is also possible to eat quite high-end food for a reasonable price level in the castle restaurant. And the list of wine and spirits was very complete, and sitting there sipping on a good whiskey in a leather chair after the dinner was very relaxing. My teenage son was by then spending the time in the huge bathtub of our room. Altogether it really felt as we were some royalty in the past. The breakfast was also great, and the location is perfect for hiking in the surroundings. Only a few hundred meters away is an amazing cave with beautiful rock formations and remains of cave bears.

    Hotel is located in a very nice area surrounded by hills, woods, and a river. Overall the hotel is good. The room was clean with the exception of spider webs on the walls. Mattress was a bit too soft for me, but I still managed to get some sleep. Breakfast (included in the price) was very good, and the staff was friendly. No issues in finding a parking space, which was included in the price. Definitely will stay here again.

    The hotel was closed down. When we arrived it looked like the place had been vacant for years. We had to scramble to find another place. It seems like this place is scamming people as they take online reservations through places like booking.com making it very difficult trying to get a refund. (FYI booking.com was of zero help).
