I was limited to travelling on foot or bicycle from our hotel but what I saw of Munich did not inspire me as much as other towns on the Romantic Road which had more natural beauty and interesting architecture. The centre of the old town was interesting and that was our highlight with the three days we had. I would have liked to do a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle but the weather (rain predicted) & the prospect of so many tourists deterred us. I would start with the very good public transportation. Then it is always something interesting that is happening in the city. This time it was IAA MOBILITY Munich 2025. Around Marienplatz there are a lot of restaurants with Bavarian specialties additionally to the famous Bavarian beer. For sure Englische Garten also deserves a visit. A beautiful city with rich history and a wonderful vibe. Great traditional food and of course off the charts BEER! The city is relatively easy to navigate and is accessible by car, airport and train. See the Glockenspiel in the Marienplatz plaza. The Residenz palace was breathtaking and amazing. Visit the old churches: Frauenkirche, Asamkirche, and many others. Munich is beautiful.
Munich is beautiful. Wide tree lined streets and avenues, gives an 'open' feel. VERY CLEAN (coming from S. Cyprus this is so much appreciated) as are the greenery, parks, lovely buildings everywhere. The people were all friendly, polite and helpful. Great choice of quality foods in restaurants, cafes in all price ranges.
