Otterberg is a quiet little town, with old buildings and painted houses, not far from Kaiserslautern which is a bigger city offering everything you need and might not find in Otterberg, just a bus ride away or a short drive. Otterberg is surrounded by hills offering many options for paths to walk on no matter the season, without getting bored and you can also find historical and cultural landmarks all over and even memories of Celtic influence, which I especially liked! The city center is very nice and neat, even if it doesn't have many restaurants, cafes or bakeries and such and only 2 main supermarkets, but if you want more, you can just go to Kaiserslautern and then come back to enjoy the scenery and tranquility. Especially at night and in the morning, the city is quiet and when you walk around, you meet many people walking their dogs saying "Hello!" and smiling even if they don't know you.
