This is an amazing hotel to stay at close to the river Elbe. The room we had was exceptional and I think we must have been uprgraded! It was actually a suite of rooms. The place is really up to date with high quality decor, joinery, plumbing fittings, beds and pretty much everything else. Superb ambience in the restaurant and breakfast room with great, beautifully cooked food. The staff could not have been more helpful and were a delight to talk to. Ottendorf is a quiet and attractive town with the hotel located in the heart of it. I recommened the place unreservedly. Impossible to fault!

We had an outstanding stay at Hotel & Restaurant “Zur Post” in Otterndorf bei Cuxhaven. From the moment we arrived, we were met with exceptional service and warm hospitality. Traveling with our four field spaniels, we were delighted by how accommodating the hotel was. Our room was spacious, well-appointed, and provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the restaurant—despite closing hours, the staff went above and beyond to prepare a delicious dinner for us, ensuring we had an unforgettable dining experience. Every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations, and we wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a high-quality stay with outstanding service.     This hotel is located conveniently located towards the outskirts of the town. Whilst tea and coffee making facilities were not available in the room, there is a free tea/coffee bar near reception. Overnight EV charging is really convenient for a very reasonable cost. The restaurant was quiet when we visited and the food was very good. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

    The hotel was great. We enjoyed the friendly personel and they gave us a comfortable stay. A very clean room which has a lot of attention in decoration. Reallly nice! The restaurant serves creative and tasty dishes.

    Such a calm hotel in a calm location by the river. Beautifully decorated small hotel in a nautical theme with great food. We rented canoes and the staff were helpful.
