Haus Appel and the Ahrtal Valley are an annual pilgrimage for my former academic colleagues and me. Following the floods last year, we were unsure what we find this year. While there is rebuilding for sure that continues, it was wonderful to find that the hospitality and graciousness of Haus Appel, the beauty and hiking in the valley and the excellent wine and food remain!

A warm and very nice welcome by Silke. The style of the hotel is really classy, lovely decorated, warm , great choice of materials. The room is lovely, very comfortable, Silke has eye for details. Lot of choice for breakfast, freshly made eggs. We highly recommand this hotel!

This is the perfect place if you want to disconnect yourself from the city life, the room was huge and all around very quiet. The staff was very attentive. Breakfast and sauna, amazing! We will definitely come back again!

We had a big bedroom with roll down shutters for a good night's sleep on an immense and comfortable bed. We had the new(?) and excellent sauna all to ourselves which was a real treat and as we were out of season we got a really good price.
