The property is in a great location in Staufen. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Nicely decorated! Breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant in the evening. Morris was very helpful! In addition to working in the restaurant he provided us with bicycles for a day ride.

    Ancient town (the castle is 12 century) with wonderful restaurants, bars, peacefulness, and lots to do in its vicinity. I never had a bad meal or a bad drink at all the places I visited. The cross-country mountain biking is endless. Freiburg is only 18kms away. The significance of this for me, is the international train station, which I used for trips to Switzerland, and the Basel Mulhouse airport is only a one hour bus ride away. This airport serves most of Europe through EasyJet. The people of Staufen are also very kind and hospitable, so much so, we now have friends there. Give it a go.

    The hotel was in an excellent location in Staufen. It was more expensive than other Staufen hotels and the experience did not justify the higher cost. The breakfasts were patchy eg scrambled egg not available on some days. The desk staff were not friendly.
