Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact.
Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.Guest review byIreneUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I booked apartment with terace,got tiny rat hole upstairs with tiny windows,was +32 c....drunk noisy people around ...knocked at my door at night...plates and cups were dirty...bed was full of ketchup...and no receptionist....no one is to talk... We were surprised at the size of the hotel. It is so large a map is needed to navigate around. The bathroom was very functional but with a glass screen door onto the bedroom. The wardrobe space and storage space with desk was very good. The bed supremely comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent as was the service.Guest review byJulieAustralia

The food in the restaurant, where we ate in the evening, wasn't bad and wasn't too expensive. We got three ouzos each on the house, which was nice.
