We had a wonderful stay at Sternen! It’s a beautifully renovated, family-run hotel in the heart of the Black Forest. Arriving by car was easy—there are several parking spots right in front of the hotel, and a larger parking area just a couple of minutes away. The owners, Aleksandra and Michael, are the best hosts we’ve ever met. They were incredibly attentive and made us feel completely at home. Each morning, they prepare a delicious breakfast, and in the evening (upon request), they serve amazing dinners. If you’re heading out for a hike, they’ll provide snacks and sandwiches. The village where the hotel is located is peaceful and quiet, and the surrounding area is full of beautiful hiking trails. At night, you can lie back and gaze at a sky full of stars. We can definitely recommend this place and truly hope to come back again. Thank you, Aleksandra and Michael—it was a real pleasure talking to you! Warm greetings, Pavlo & Natalia

    I walked through Todtmoos and it was all faded glory. I had a pizza in one of the last restaurants left and the service was like in the hotel: long waiting, very impolite and grumpy. Todtmoos is a village you should forget.

    A good area for hiking and exploring the Black forest sights...

    A good area for hiking and exploring the Black forest sights. Todtmoos is an attractive small town with shops and cafes’ however the food was so good at our hotel (Gersbacher) we opted to eat there each evening. There are some activities like bowling and putting in the area and a swimming pool , ( not used by us) ´ and some more adventurous activities for those so inclined. Good beer’ wine coffee and cakes also abound and parking is generally easy. The only negative is the proliferation of motorbikes’ extremely noisy and alarming on the twisty roads, which are also attracted to this region.

    a very nice small town (or a village). the main streets have shops and cafes... a very good supermarket on the outskirts Schmidt's Market. a very nice park with water creek accessible from the supermarket parking lot. very good pizza at the hotel. there is a gas station with nice staff. overall very good experience.

    Todtmoos is a charming village with limited accommodation options, and everything else was fully booked during our visit. At first, we were unsure about this hotel based on the photos we saw and didn’t expect much, but we still wanted to experience the village. It’s true that the centuries-old building could use some work on the outside, but the interior has been renovated (something not reflected in the pictures). Our room had been recently remodeled, was very comfortable, and featured a modern bathroom with a great shower.

    The hotel was in a quiet area of Todtmoos, which suited us well, being a short walk downhill to the village centre, The owners were very kind and welcoming, and were happy to chat to us, which helped us to learn more about the area. Our room had a magnificent view down the valley, and breakfast was exceptional.

    A wonderful authentic genusshotel in a beautiful spot in the schwarzwald. The hospitality was impeccable and the food amazing! Our room was spacious and perfect for an overnight stay en route to italy.
