    VS-Villingen is a Medieval walled city within easy driving (or train) distance of many of the attractions in the Black Forest area of Germany. It is one hour and 15 minutes from either Zurich or Stuttgart International airports. It has an incredible Fastnacht celebration in February. Like Mardi Gras in the USA, it is celebrated during the last days before the start of Lent (Ash Wednesday). The parades are amazing with ancient wooden face masks and elaborate costumes representing the various regions.

    Rooms were very clean and was great for the price. The hotel is going through renovations. Our room was newly renovated. We were only there at night, so the renovations did not affect us really. If you were planning to stay in your room during the day, it may be disruptive for certain guests.

    Well-located and nice hotel with friendly staff. It just seems that the staff is quite busy, as we found a forgotten sock near the radiator))) But apart from that, it was nothing!
