What an experience to stay in a Black Forest house nearly 500 years old. Character, charm, history !Gerard the host was the most kind and friendly person and really made our stay extra special by his kindness and making us feel so welcome, even giving me an extra special gift for my birthday I will treasure and remember our Black Forest stay. A short drive to great restaurants in Todtnau. Truly special.

We enjoyed seeing the rural part of Germany appose to the cities. We arrived by taxi and did not have our own car, so if you have to make use of public transportation (bus) make sure you are fit as the bus stops is about 1km away. Our family room with the kitchenette was great as we like to make our own breakfast. The town of Todnau nearby was a great visit with our teenagers.

Authentic setting, small but comfortable and very clean room. The host was lovely and attentive. The dinner was generous and at an unbeatable price. Breakfast was very good and varied.

The room was wonderful with grotto and/or Roman like details and complete with just about everything you can wish for. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was pretty basic but complete for what we expect.

    This is a modern suite in a traditional wooden Black Forest house It is very clean, and very quiet. Gerd, the owner of the house, is very friendly, and really wants you to enjoy your time in the Black Forest. The whole area is very beautiful, and there are numerous hiking trails nearby, including the Belchensteig. Note that if you are coming by bus, ask to get out at the Wiedenmatt bus stop, which is right in front of this house! Highly recommended.

    Family run hotel with charming staff whose English was much better than my German. As a solo traveller I felt welcomed. 1,000 metes above sea level with magnificent views of the Black Forest (southern end) and footpaths lead out from the hotel. Dinner was top quality and the style of cooking was creative and healthy. Coffee at breakfast was the best I've ever had. Nice dining table and bed linen.
