It is more touristic than I thought, a bit overcrowded for my taste. One reason to not take the cable car up the mountain. If you like crowds and lots of restaurants you're at the right place. Willingen is a nice village located in stunning nature.
Willingen is a nice village located in stunning nature. But it nevertheless became a hotspot for stag and hen parties and the likes. If you're looking for a calm and quiet place you need to come in Novembre or February. Willingen has changed a lot In 1980-83 I was here nearly every Wedensday and Saturday Skiing. There is a lot more to do and see in Willingen. The hiking trails are great there are a lot of Mountain bike trails as well. One small point if you want to eat at one of the more well known resataurants at 19.00 make sure you reserve a table the day before.Guest review byPeterGermany

The location is just 10 cycling minutes from the starting area, making it a great crash place to take a part in the bike festival event. Otherwise the hotel is located close to Grenzkamm trail, Poen circuit, and quite some Bike Arena tours. Excellent host, great breakfast for the cyclists.
