Xanten is a perfect small town to be visited over the course of a weekend. It is small enough to walk around and visit all the landmarks or museums you are interested in. Don't forget to spend half a day in the Archaelogischen Park Xanten, just outside the city center! Another recommendation is to sit down at the terraces or inside any of the restaurants. We'd loved the flower garden and the friendliness of the hostess Dorothee. The kitchen is well equipped, and the seating area is comfortable. The location has several apartments, but they are in different areas of the building so no problem at all: lots of privacy. The location can be reached using gravel roads. There is a popular and good quality Greek restaurant which is the main focus of the establishment. I had a pleasant meal eating in the open air (it was a warm evening). The accommodation is fairly basic, but is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb with too much to eat and I was offered a bag to take the surplus away.
