everything was incredible! the staff was absolutely wonderful and honestly some of the kindest people I have ever met. the room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. and the whole property was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

This unique property is absolutely amazing. The facilities were all top notch and the staff was super friendly and so helpful. It is a 3 hr drive from Quito with the last part being bumpy roads so I would not recommend driving yourself but the place is well worth the drive. Such a fantastic life experience being in the middle of a 7000 acre rain forest all to yourself and a select few other guests.

It’s a great location and a beautiful setting. We had breakfast and lunch out in the garden near the hummingbird and tanager birdfeeders, and the birds were so active that I had to keep on jumping up every 45 seconds to take another photo! But what I most appreciated was the extraordinary kindness, generosity, and attentiveness of the owners Patricio and Camila, as well as the rest of the staff. They catered to our every need. Patricio also went above and beyond by helping us with the logistical arrangements for several day trips and tours we took, and Patricio and Camila even personally drove us to at no charge to one of the best local birdwatching sites. I have never felt so warmly received in any commercial establishment in my life, and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Exceptional basic accommodation. Maria is an excellent cook. Great for hummingbird, tanager, toucan endemics. Several kilometers of cloud forest trails and dirt roads, some easy walking, others a little steep and muddy.

Outstanding hosts, wonderful food. Having the pool and hot tub was an added bonus. The coconut rimmed Pina Colada is the star. Best guacamole and masa fried plantains. Great breakfast with wonderful coffee and freshly made juice. The bed was firm but very comfortable. Lovely pillows for sleeping. The wifi was very good. Lots of seating and even a hammock. Close to the square and to the Yellow House nature trails. Music played nightly in the pool/bar area until around 10-11 at night, and even though we went to bed early, the music was happy and didn't stop us from falling right to sleep. Highly recommend

The staff was excellent and the warm swimming pool was welcome at the end of a long day.

Javier was the concierge. He was super helpful and polite for all of our needs. He helped with activities and was able to charge it to the room. When you don't have cash and you don't want to stop at an ATM, they take credit cards for 5% if you like. The city/country has big taxes on credit card transactions. The rooms were great with windows open, or the fan on it helped with the temperature control cool in the afternoon. It is relaxing and beautiful, especially when it rains at night like white noise. The free breakfast is great. We ordered The Americano with pakcakes that looked like no other pancakes we've seen that were to die for. Juices and fruits are different and fresh each day. Coffee was great as well. Back to the pancakes, they are fat and thick, and with the maple syrup, it tastes like the best pancakes we've ever had. We asked to switch out the ham for red sausage (chorizo). They have a private garden near the mountains, with beautiful birds. Security gates are great, even if Mindo is about as safe a town as could be. Javier went way above and beyond most services. He is calm and patient and is polite with all his help he offered. He had advice on all subjects. We liked the 5 minute walk when we left the hotel or when we came back, that was right near the main town area. And you were able to get away from most noises at night. The massages my wife got were amazing and less than $50. She likes them better than her personal masseuse for back problems. The last day, Javier even offered to carry our 2 heavy backpacks (40 - 60 lbs each) from the hotel to the bus station instead of taking a taxi. He said he didn't mind the exercise. There were a lot of other things we asked help with that he assisted. All you have to do is ask. We decided to stay there 4 days of our 8 day trip. You could pay less at other places, but it's more quiet, more personalized, gorgeous mountain views, and very romantic.
