They humiliate you just to book a restaurant or go to the beach, with strange rules: entry is only allowed for couples, and for couples the woman must not be veiled. The area have a promising future, but right now beside what is available at the north square and the mall its pretty empty and very over priced, and several locations and restaurants are not accessible unless you are staying at Rixsos. Beautiful beaches, clear turquoise water, soft white sand. Full range of modern amenities. Our hotel had everything we needed; we swam in the pool in the morning and spent afternoons at the beach. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fabulous. Staff were super-helpful and friendly. El Alamein is our favourite place for a relaxing get-away.Guest review bySusanCanada

Massive pool, beautiful view, lovely shore. We were able to use the Gewan resort facilities for free, which was a massive positive point, as they had a water park, a calmer sea, and many pools, plus Gewan Resort had a good variety of food to purchase if you went with breakfast only in the Gewan palace. The services were good, the location was beautiful, and the food at the restaurant was quite nice. However, I noticed that some of the frying pans used for making omelettes were worn out, and the Teflon coating was peeling into the food. Fortunately, this was replaced the next day.
