First of all the hotel was a rectangle with rectangular rooms, a rare find in Europe. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. As for the town, we found it very picturesque and charming. Most restaurants don't open until 8:00pm which is common in Spain. My wife's maiden name is Mondragon so we went to the city hall to get find out more about the town. We got the royal treatment from the service manager herself. She gave us maps and talked with us about the history of the town. She then left her office and gave us a personal guided tour with access to the town hall meeting room and cupola. Her service was above and beyond anything that I expected. The very next day was a festival day with a running of bulls though the city. Unfortunately we had a strict itinerary and couldn't stay one more day. The entire hotel was recently renovated and it shows, with a clean and beautiful atmosphere. The staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. We needed to arrive a bit after 23h, we called explaining the situation, and they kindly waited for us. Absolutely superb facilities with lovely coffee and patisseries and cake for the guests. The breakfast was very good every morning and the owner Karmele went above and beyond to make me feel welcome in her hotel.
