Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.  

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city.     Historic city on an island, so sea all around! Easy to walk around the city. Great tour with 'We are Cadiz'. Go to the cathedral, the market, and Tavira Tower. Amazing tapas at Taberna Casa Manteca. Can recommend Sonambulo restaurant for dinner and Cafe Royalty for Coffee and Cake!

    Bring your map app .. SO easy to get lost but in a fun way! These very old streets are narrow, few cars allowed in - stores and restaurants spill out into the walkways. Enjoy ambling through the various parks and neighbourhoods, and taking in, not only the beaches, but the churches!

    It was excellent, I have already covered this in detail in my review /Likes. The Cathedral was Magnificent inside and out, but it isn't in your sights below, because I didn't see those listed, I can't give an opinion; it was great for photos I took lots. If any of the sights below were like the Museum(Roman)and in the mina area and the beautiful beaches from the tour bus, also the tower and the music hall adjacent I would expect them to be great as well, everywhere was beautiful.

    It’s a great city with a lot of history, lots of interesting shops, lots of different little streets, with lots of tapas bars, mini markets clothing shops. The vibe of the city is very relaxed,the food and drink is inexpensive and in some really traditional establishments very cheap, nice public beaches, everything is easy and accessible unlike the United Kingdom

    We loved Cadiz where we stayed for 5 nights.

    We loved Cadiz where we stayed for 5 nights. Great place to wander round. We enjoyed the ancient Phoenician and Roman remains. Great restaurant suggestions by our host. We had a day trip to Jerez on the train which was also very interesting. Flamenco seems to be only on Fridays and cathedral square etc gets very busy during the day when cruise ships are in but you can easily escape the crowds in a couple of minutes and there are plenty of quiet delightful squares for a coffee or a drink .

    It's hard to explain why we liked Cadiz so much. The vibe of old town is great. Laid back, easy going, good food and coffee - what's not to like. Beaches are close by. Lots of character. Go to Cadiz!

    For your Cadiz adventure this hotel is one of the best there is! From the happy and helpfull staff who always welcomes you with a warm smile and offers you cold water to the convenience and minimalistic coziness of the room it seems that booking this hotel was an excellent choice. Location was also great.. After walking around the magic streets of cadiz and swimming in the ambient sea of the atlantic ocean our hotel was there so we could rest happy and get ready for the next day. Really we recomend it with all our heart!

    Located in a quiet side street off the main drag, this hotel is close to the railway station and right in the centre of things. The staff we met over our 4 day stay were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast had a wide choice of items. We had a room which opened out onto a roof terrace which was private enough to use - Cadiz is a city of narrow streets so it was a bonus not to be overlooked. We're coming back to Cadiz next year and will definitely stay here again.

    Our room was lovely - it’s worth upgrading to superior sea views. Infinity pool , very comfortable sunbathing area with views out to sea - amazing . The roof top bar was great too . The best part of this hotel is the staff - they are absolutely lovely - so helpful and kind - I had a fall on the cobblestones in Cádiz centro and they really looked after me ( tip - wear flat shoes !) the staff were really wonderful

    Super clean and very well maintained hotel. Very comfy beds. Excellent location in Cadiz hold town but very quiet thanks to impressively soundproof windows. Very good breakfast and excellent tapas bar next to hotel. Secured parking available although a bit expensive.
