Capileira is a delightful village in a stunning location overlooking the Poqueira gorge. There are some great inexpensive restaurants and lots of walks on marked trails. I try to get to Capileira twice a year. I love the peace and quiet and the immense amount of extremely well kept mountain hikes from simple to hard. Eating out is relatively cheap and there is something for everyone. Lovely village for relaxing, The restaurants we tried served great food and was value for money. accommodation is always very well priced in early summer. great for hiking and the mountains. the local supermarket is very well priced and not hiked up for tourist. we seemed to get free tapas with every drink at the bars which was nice. this is my second visit to Capileira and i hope i have chance to go back again one day.Guest review bymikeUnited Kingdom

Communal kitchenette where guests can make their own breakfast with a microwave and toaster, kettle and coffee machine with a dining/sitting area opening onto the large outdoor terrace with fabulous views. Stayed in January, rooms cosy and Alberto lit the wood burner in the living area each evening which is so welcoming in winter. Ideal location for walks and the village has plenty of eating choices. Elena is a very friendly host and the apartments have been done to a very high standard. A lovely terrace with stunning views overlooking the town and countryside.
