Collbato is a great base for hiking some of the quieter trails in Montserrat. We hiked to the monastery twice along different routes and got a taxi back. The village itself is very pretty and peaceful, although bear in mind that many of the restaurants may not be open if you visit mid-week outside the peak season. Staff were laid back and friendly, bit difficult to find but it added to the charm.
