I wasn’t particularly thrilled with our stay. We arrived, were greeted with faultless service, and were in our room resting within minutes. A little chaos or a delayed check-in would have added some much-needed excitement. The room was spotless and disturbingly quiet. I prefer a bit of noise - doors slamming, muffled conversations, maybe even the occasional argument next door. It helps me relax. Instead, I was trapped in a bubble of oppressive calm. Breakfast was served with a stunning view of the Guggenheim Museum, which was entirely too distracting. Naturally, this made it impossible to fully focus on the excellent food. The location was also far too convenient, with everything just a short walk away. I usually enjoy the challenge of navigating public transport, but here, even that simple pleasure was denied. And, to make it worse, my wife loved it. Now I have to live up to this standard every time we travel.

A great location by the Guggenheim and near the airport bus stop. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, spacious room and I had a view of the Guggenheim museum which I was given as an upgrade :-)

Very helpful staff & the usual ibis good quality of room & premises. A good shopping mall very close by on the opposite side of the road. Limited parking & not reserved but street parking normally available around the block when we visited end of August. Petrol station right next door convenient if travelling by car. Good tip if visiting beautiful Bilbao & if you have a car: drive a few minutes from ibis Hotel to the Metro & use the Metro Parking. Parking is expensive but when you use the Metro, the Metro ticket which you buy from a machine inside the station, also serves as a discount on the parking ticket which will be charged at 70 cents Euro for 24 hours! Staff will gladly explain.

    La Arboleda is a small village in the mountains.

    La Arboleda is a small village in the mountains. You can go hiking in the nearby routes. There is also a golf course a short 10 minutes walk . You can also take the funicular down to Valle de Trapaga and from there the train or bus to Bilbao, the trip will take you by public transport around 50 minutes. There are plenty of bars for a nice drink on a terrace and many restaurants where you can eat typical food. It is a beautiful place with lots to offer
