We went only because of the free hot springs and it worked...
We went only because of the free hot springs and it worked well. On the weekends, we have to avoid them because there are many people. Besides that, the landscape around the village, serra do Xurês, is absolutely amazing, and those nature lovers will find have an unforgettable experience, walking or by car, always listening to running waters and sometimes a nice source with pure and crystalline water. Small town with all the amenities.
Small town with all the amenities. The public thermal baths are definitely the highlight - the Lobios one was especially nice with the light rain; the Bande ones, about 20min away by car, we still underwater so we couldn't experience them. There are many trails around, and you can opt for longer or shorter ones, none of the ones we did were especially difficult. Ask for a map in the tourism office or at your hotel, and take your pick.
