he Colorful Soul of the Costa del Sol
The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and youll find your place among the youthful square of the old center, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. First time trip to Malaga - vibrant city with so much to see. Stayed two nights and managed to visit the market, port and beach on first day and Alcazaba and Gibralfaro castle on day two . Very walkable city and great local buses and local trains. Also well served by the two city stations. Really impressed with Malaga. So much to see. Easy to get about. Plenty of sightseeing tours. Cafes and restaurants were great and so cheap. Malaga city centre is so impressive and clean with magnificent tree lined avenues, fountains and churches. Cruise liners and super yachts were berthed in the harbour. Vibrant, beautiful and friendly. From late night, balmy walks to some of the best vegetarian food we’ve had. So much to do that we couldn’t fit it all in :) Only a short jump on a train from Malaga airport; most of our exploring of the city was done on foot. A revisit is definitely in planning.
