Es Mercadel was a quiet area and the villa was very private- We liked this. Close by there was a small supermarket and a cafe which was good for breakfasts and drinks. A clean well equipped villa in a quiet location in what seemed to be a residential area only 3-4 mins walk from the beach and local facilites including a supermarket. The beach is large and clean and feels very safe with young families and older folk. All considerate. The locals are friendly and helpful. The food and wine are cheap. Fish dishes excel. Avoid the snack bar sitting on its own at one end of the beach - service verges on hostile and the octopus we got for 20 Euros was literally 2 mouthfuls - most unpleasant experience.
