The hotel was right on the harbour so it was great to have look around the boats ect. A short walk uphill into the town and you find plenty of bars and good restaurants. If you dont fancy the walk into town there are 3 good fish restaurants on or around the harbour. The highlight of the city is clearly the Playa de las Catedrales. We went by it on the way in but it was rainy and overcast so we only did a drive by. The next morning was much clearer. We also lucked out as being at low tide. We learned that one should DEFINITELY watch the tide schedules when visiting as you want to get down and don't want to be trapped. We only had one night in Ribadeo, which by coincidence, was during a festival. The night life was brilliant, with live music staged in the town centre, and several ad hoc groups of musicians moving around the town, as well as a fair. Ribadeo is a small seaside town.
Ribadeo is a small seaside town. Very quiet this time of the year. Easy to walk around but the town itself could be difficult for wheelchair users or people with visual or walking difficulties. Several of the footpaths are quite narrow and the kerbs are up to 30cm in height in some places. However outside the town centre, walkers should not experience any difficulties. People are friendly and helpful. I speak some Spanish and Portuguese, and found I could manage Gallego, the local dialect, which is similar to Portuguese. This is just as well as very few people can speak more than a few words of English. I noticed that most of the reviews were from Spanish people. You can take a local bus or walk on a boardwalk about an hour east to Praia Catedrais (Cathedral Beach), where there are spectacular rock formations where the sea has eroded the coastline. Some parts are inaccessible at high tide and there are clear signs warning that you will be fined at least €6,000 if they have to rescue you! This time of the year, Ribadeo would be an ideal place to visit if you are looking for a nice quiet holiday.Guest review byDerrymorePortugal - 8.0

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spotless if a bit tired. breakfast was plentiful but basic. It is very central to the town. They have parking around the back underground (with a lift to reception) but on street parking is available too. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the garden in a rare sunny interlude in our holiday! Visit to nearby Playa des Catedrales well worth it, as was later visit into nearby Ribadeo - very picturesque harbour/port area with plentiful eating places. The owners there took excellent care of me and did everything they could so I could rest & recover. Really kind people. Besides that, the hotel itself is really nice.
