Beautiful beaches but you can see why this place hasn’t taken off as a tourist resort. No one speaks English. It’s not child friendly. Nothing opens until 9. Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors. It's an attractive city with plenty to see and do. It's family friendly too. It's easy to get to nearby Bilbao, or to Potes in the mountains. There are fast and frequent coach services all over the region. It may not attract A list celebrities or have the glamour of San Sebastian, but it has plenty of appeal if you are looking for a sun and sea holiday, and pinxtos too!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Intercity public transport is limited, restaurants and supermarkets are expensive, and getting around often involves climbing steep stairs between roads. Food is delicious and so much better than the congealed tapas in the hotel. The hotel has a very busy gym. The gym/spa and hotel share the same reception area. Spa is modest but worth the small cost.
