This would be a great place to stay if you had business to do in Valdepenas or, like us, you wanted a place to break your journey on your way to Andalucia. The kitchen was very well equipped so we ate in our apartment as the weather was extremely wet. VDP is a working class spainish town mainly full of youmg families who I assume work on the vineyards etc. So don't come expecting designer shops like in Madrid because you will not find them. What yiu will find is Avery spainish atmosphere with low cost shops and bars which offer good value for money and a true local experience. We were not disappointed but don't come with your tourist hat on, enjoy it for what it is and you won't be disappointed. You get a tapa with every dribk and the drinks are not expensive. The bed was super comfy, the room was spacious.
The bed was super comfy, the room was spacious. We were just there for a night on our way from Bilbao to Malaga. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice. The spa was good, we didn't try the gym. Steam room, jacuzzi and sauna not as hot as expected but comfortable. Everything was lovely and clean but in need of just a little TLC! We were there on a Sunday so got to experience and share a family Sunday with the warmest of Spanish people . Probably our favourite stop off experience to date . We have been coming to Spain for years with our dog cali by ferry to Bilbao and stopover somewhere different each time on our trip south to Malaga .
