The friendliness of the staff who put up with my inability to speak Spanish and use Google Translate as a means to communicate, and all done with a smile!!! Their mascot is fantastic too! They're used to bikepackers/tourers and i think have a few things for sale, well they're in a glass cabinet - small selection of inner tubes, chain links and sealant.

Apartment is in a little town with 2 bars. Really quiet location, there is a small terrace which you can use. Everything is there in the kitchen. Make sure you buy food ahead, there is only one bakery in town with limited opening hours (like in other small towns in rural spain). Beautiful surroundings

A dainty little town in the middle of nowhere. Just the way I wanted it! I was looking for the clearest skies with the least light pollution to setup my telescope and observe the Galaxy M101, where recently a supernova was observed. And I found that in Huelamo! Charming old town on a hill, with a maze of streets. Surrounded by nature. Very peaceful and relaxing. Not even distant car noise. (I was there early September. There would be more people around in July and August but still). The host and neighbours were very welcoming and helpful (a bit of Spanish probably helps). The house was basic but had everything I needed. The main feature is the westward facing terrace. Wow.
