I arrived to a friendly welcome from Itxaso, who was very helpful. The apartment was spotlessly clean and felt bigger than it looked in the photos. It had a comfy bed, a lovely bathroom and a small but fairly well-equipped little kitchen section. The apartment was very well located, close to both the Old Town and the seafront. Since my room was right on the street, I was a little worried about noise, but it was actually very peaceful.

I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone and is certainly value for money. The guests are usually a mixture of pilgrims & holidaying tourists. The staff are friendly and went out of their way to see to the comfort of the guests in many ways right from the supplying on request of towels, hairdryers & extra pillows to maintaining the cleaniness of the hostel. They are very accomadating to those who request to leave their bags for a few extra hours before or after checking out. The landlord is charming, has excellent public relations & is very well informed on Zarautz highlights. He is a well of information on the local tourist spots, sea tides & best spots for tasty food. The weather changed for the better & it was wonderful sitting out on the terrace enjoying the sun & the breeze & the sound of the birds. Yes. Definitely the place if you like the quiet, laid bac, equable atmosphere
