Our family stayed in a cottage of Ounasrannan Majat (Ounasranta cottages) during our winter holidays. The cottage is located in the countryside, in a beautiful and idyllic village of Tepasto. I had an opportunity to stay overnight in a goahti (a modern well-equipped tipi-like hut) on the shore of the river Ounasjoki. It was an unforgettable experience! I was able to see the clear, starlit sky through the skylight! I guess in optimal circumstances the overnighter can see the northern lights! Despite the outside temperature, -13 celsius the goahti was warm and cosy. I slept like a log! This is an experience you can't skip - you will remember it for the rest of your life.
