I loved my stay in Wayalailai. The enviroment there was amazing and we met a lot of incredible people! Food was good (although sometimes was difficult to find healthy food as they cook with lots of sauces). As it is kind of a resort but cheaper, it is very suitable for backpackers and people travelling on a budget what made us meet plenty of people our age. They offer yummy fruit in every meal which is amazing (none of the resorts we stayed before offer that amount of fruit). They also helped us organise our trip back to the mainland for a cheaper price than the main companys which operate in the islands.

The best resort we stayed at during our time in the Yasawas. The pool is amazing, even though you of course you have also one of the most beautiful beaches in the islands just in front of the resort. Food is the best as well, all made to order (for breakfast the offer buffet plus freshly made dishes). Management is also very welcoming and greets the guest personally and is always around for questions. Great activities like movie night at the pool area. Staff overall is very charming and helpful.

Everything! Stayed in the dorms, spacious rooms with fans and electricity, buckets out front to wash your feet of sand before coming in. Frequent cleanings of both dorms and communal bathrooms which were also spacious and enough of everything even with full dorms. The staff becomes your family during longer stays and makes a real effort to remember your name, so you’re constantly greeted by name wherever you go. Nice activities that vary every day- crab racing, weaving hats out of coconut leaves, walks etc. Meal plan initially seems a bit expensive but you actually get great value for money- lot of different food options, three course evening dinners, lot of fruit and veg (and includes WiFi and snorkel equipment as well as sup board and kayak use). Drinks not included but considering the monopoly they have are still very reasonably priced.

I would really recommend a stay here! The location is stunning with sunset and sunrise beaches. The staff is so nice!!! Definitely go snorkeling with the manta rays - the team provides a great and well organized experience and always focuses on the well being of the manta rays. The diving is also breathtaking, such beautiful coral! I recommend learning more about sharks and manta rays from Bella, Rob and the team! They do an amazing job!

What a wonderful and memorable stay in a traditional Fijian village. We liked it so much that we ended up staying in Soso village for a month. Silo, Bill, Va, Rob, Simi, Luisa and Iki, we will never forget the great time we had with you. You took good care of us, prepared extra food for the children and helped us when they got sick. As for the village. The people are very friendly, with a lot of children, so our kids made friends instantly. The beach in front of the village is beautiful, with a nice healthy reef to snorkel and there are some nice hikes with spectacular views over all of the Tasawas. As there is no light pollution, stargazing is breathtaking and the manta ray passage is just around the corner. The accommodation is very basic with a bucket shower and no-flush-toilet, but the beds are comfortable and the food is great. Note that the water available is rain water, so if you want to go safe, bring your own bottled water (or aqua-tabs) from the mainland because there are no real shops on the island. Also, you should wear a Sulu (Sarong) around the village and in church, men too. And it’s expected that you bring a kava root (worth 20 FJ$) and/or some money to present to the chief of the village when you arrive.

Staying at Tai Evi Homestay in Soso Village was an unforgettable experience filled with warmth and community. The village, with around 600 people and 90 children attending the local school, welcomed us with open arms. Everywhere we walked, we would hear "Bula" being called out to us from peoples homes and yards. On the evening of our arrival, we met with the chief and brought offerings to get his blessing for our stay. Silo, Bill, Va, Rovini, Ike, Peter, and Loochi—made us feel like family. We enjoyed safe snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs just off the beach, and the boat ride to the village while short, was filled with stunning views. The money spent for our two-night stay, felt like a small price for the rich cultural experience and genuine connections we made. The food prepared by Va was delicious, the bathroom, shower, and accommodations were clean, and we even had a power bar to recharge our devices during the day. We brought water with us, but were pleased to find out they had filtered water for us too if needed. If you're looking for adventure and a genuine experience, you have found your homestay! We wished we could stay longer, and hope to be back again! Current cost breakdown: 1. Accommodation: $96 FJD for 2 nights (booked via Booking.com). 2. Chief Offering: $25 FJD for kava (if needed to purchase in the village otherwise buy in Nadi) + $10 FJD per person for the ceremony, which goes to helping the village. 3. Boat Ride: $35 FJD for a one-way boat ride for the both of us (20-30 minutes). 4. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner: $50fjd per person/day 5. Reasonably priced activities which include snorkeling/picnic, fishing, manta ray snorkeling (when in season and they are around), school visit, weaving etc.

See other review. Good value holiday in a quiet, relaxing and friendly island. Basic conditions but all you need. Would NOT meet expectations of people wanting a fancy resort with all the frills. But if you are after a basic holiday in paradise then you will love it

We come two times a year because of the people and the lifestyle. As I talked to other families they said the same thing. They love how friendly the staff are and how everyone is welcome. Best place we ever stayed. If you’re thinking of doing Fiji make this spot a priority. Be careful thought, you will fall in love and never want to leave. Make sure to do the island walk, the mountain hike and eat some do the amazing pancakecays at breakfast.
