    Great City. I coming here for 6 consecutive years. I just love this town. wonderful city center with a lot of shops and restaurants. The Markets are great. Easy to get around by foot or transport. From here it is also a great staring point and short distances to visit other places in Provence, Var, Gard.

    Beautiful- so clean, elegant, art galleries fantastic- I visited the Cezanne exhibition which was superb; great food from patisserie to fresh produce in the markets and restaurants - markets throughout the week. Easy to walk everywhere but buses great - when visited Saint Maximin and Sainte Baume . Would highly recommend a visit - we stayed three night which was perfect.

    We were travelling round France so only stayed two days in Aix. It is excellent for culture and there was a wonderful Cezanne exhibition while we were there. Plenty to see and do in the town. However, it was extremely busy while we were there. Perhaps a bit too busy. This may have been due to the Cezanne exhibition which was very popular or the fact that we were there at the weekend. It is definitely a town worth visiting though.

    Travelled to see 2025 Cezanne exhibition which was well worth the journey; combining this with seeing the places where he lived and worked was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed ambling round the streets in between cultural feasts

    This is an ideal weekend location lovely old welly feel to the place you must stay in the inner city/old town. Lots of lovely squares with street musicians, loads of bars and restaurants has a nice market on some days. We saw the CEZANNE exhibition which was great.

    We spent two nights in Aix-en-Provence and completely fell in love with the city. The Saturday market was amazing, full of colors and local flavors. Aix feels like a charming small town, but at the same time, it’s vibrant and full of things to do. We really wished we had more time there!

    The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were pleased to receive an upgrade from the classic to deluxe. The room was pleasantly decorated, provided with clean and well maintained facilities and overlooked the courtyard. The bed was extremely comfortable. Location was a short walk away from the old town centre and the central railway station. It should be noted that the Aix en Provence TGV rail station is much further west but there is a frequent bus shuttle service which also serves Marseille/Provence Airport.

    Hotel Cardinal is situated in a classic Provençal building in a very convenient location to all that Aix-en-Provence has to offer. The staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel has air-conditioning and an elevator which is always a bonus in an older European building. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is charmingly furnished with quaint but, classic old world French pieces. We would thoroughly recommend Hotel Cardinal.

    Very central location - near to both good shops, Hotel de Ville square and the Rotonde. Lots of shops and places to eat. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Very old historic building but great updates, especially to kitchen and bathroom. The photo I added shows the historic fountain that could be seen from the apartment window. (Potable water like all fountains in Aix!)
