Beautiful- so clean, elegant, art galleries fantastic- I visited the Cezanne exhibition which was superb; great food from patisserie to fresh produce in the markets and restaurants - markets throughout the week. Easy to walk everywhere but buses great - when visited Saint Maximin and Sainte Baume . We were travelling round France so only stayed two days in Aix. It is excellent for culture and there was a wonderful Cezanne exhibition while we were there. Plenty to see and do in the town. However, it was extremely busy while we were there. Perhaps a bit too busy. This may have been due to the Cezanne exhibition which was very popular or the fact that we were there at the weekend.
