We were travelling round France so only stayed two days in Aix. It is excellent for culture and there was a wonderful Cezanne exhibition while we were there. Plenty to see and do in the town. However, it was extremely busy while we were there. Perhaps a bit too busy. This may have been due to the Cezanne exhibition which was very popular or the fact that we were there at the weekend. We spent two nights in Aix-en-Provence and completely fell in love with the city. The Saturday market was amazing, full of colors and local flavors. Came for the Cezanne 2025 exhibits, and thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay in Aix en Provence. See the Basitide, see the studio, walk up to the Jardin des peintres. We even enjoyed a Cezanne-themed bike tour, and of course the Musée Granet. As in most of touristed areas of France, do a little extra homework, pick your spots, and make reservations for dinner- and even lunch. A large historic city centre with hundreds of small individual shops and restaurants. The squares are a wonderful place to eat at night and you should not miss the food markets on a Saturday. Very helpful and pleasant staff in the shops and restaurants and a very beautiful city. Access is easy by train from Marsallie or other towns in the south France; you don't need a car. Best to eat away from the main street as it's netter value and the food in thr local bakeries is amazing. The size, the decoration, the equipment, the location and the public parking options in the street of the flat. The decoration of the flat is cozy and we had all the equipment we needed.
