It could accommodate seven of us reasonably comfortably. It is quiet. The photos give a true picture of it - nothing super attractive, but serviceable. Plenty of hot water. The couple who provided us with the keys (owners or caretakers?) were pleasant; they speak no English.

In any circumstance this is a super hotel - wonderful location, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, with a fab view from the balcony, plenty of good parking and a really excellent restaurant. In our case we experienced a problem with our classic car that necessitated us working on it during the day. All the staff were concerned with our well being (and that of the car!) throughout, supplying refreshment and encouragement. And, we were able to enjoy a super lunch between work! We now look forward to returning soon, to enjoy it fully without the need to become mechanics!

Beautiful historic hotel which has been lovingly bought back to original with huge medieval fireplace in breakfast room, original ceiling beams and set in peaceful lush courtyard garden within walking distance to everything Chinon has to offer.
