It is a nice town with a beautiful beach.
It is a nice town with a beautiful beach. It has a very relaxing and positive feel to it. Most of the tourists are French families. I found locals to be welcoming. We really enjoyed taking the tour train around the area and had fun. Be sure to visit the beautiful town centre. We visited in October, the beach and port were lovely. Nearly every thing was closed by this time. During the summer we could see that it would be a really fun place to be with beautiful beaches, lively bars and restaurants, nightlife, watersports and water parks. Most things were great, the staff, the location, the facilities, the price. It is very close to the beach and the local supermarkets. We made a day trip to Spain, which is also very close by and easy to do from this location. A fantastic area of Perpignan to visit & stay lovely family atmosphere and very busy for beginning of July, there is much to see and do for all ages with numerous day and nightime activities available. There is a small train running into the centre of Argeles day and night in the surrounding area, there is a funfair with many rides. Lovely long sandy beach with pedestrian tree lined walkway right along it, very good public transport for getting around and easy to visit other places nearby. Coastal path to walk to Collioure. Although, this must be the only kitchen in France to NOT have a corkscrew present in the cutlery drawer. Great, modern bathroom, efficient kitchen and the balcony overlooking a narrow cobbled street as a bonus. Three minutes to downtown Argeles and to a convenient supermarket and another 10 minutes to le gare. They where kind & helpful and the appartment was fully equiped with everything you could possibly need for a great holiday, even a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge and litre of cold water.
