Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly.
Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly. The historic city centre is at the top of the hill but the station is at the bottom so it's a steep climb with your luggage. The food market was voted the most beautiful in 2025 and is definitely worth a visit. There are several restaurants around the market and I can recommend La Johane. The food and the service were excellent. The cathedral is very imposing and, being at the top of the hill, gives a great view over the surrounding countryside. Despite its past as a prison, they've maintained the place very well, and I slept comfortably. The location is excellent, and the cleanliness is impeccable.
