Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly.
Beziers is a beautiful city but it is very hilly. The historic city centre is at the top of the hill but the station is at the bottom so it's a steep climb with your luggage. The food market was voted the most beautiful in 2025 and is definitely worth a visit. There are several restaurants around the market and I can recommend La Johane. The food and the service were excellent. The cathedral is very imposing and, being at the top of the hill, gives a great view over the surrounding countryside. We have found it a perfect location for access to central Béziers (on foot) as well as for Grau and Cap d’Agde towns and beaches. It is a modern hotel with comfortable air conditioned rooms and secure parking. Breakfast choice is excellent and staff very courteous and helpful. The swimming pool is an added bonus.
