Location: in the city center, easily accessible by car, explored the Loire Valley and the castles by car, drive time to Tours, Orleans, and most castles is under 1 hour. Friendliness: very polite and accommodating. Restaurant: breakfast buffet and Amour blanc restaurant are excellent, Christophe Hay restaurant is exceptionally good, rightly has 2 stars. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next visit.

Even by the high standards of the Mercure chain of hotels, this one is exceptional. A beautiful, modern building which is mostly a giant, glass-roofed atrium, it provides huge, airy, light spaces. The bar in the atrium is a very comfortable and pleasant place to sit. There is a good indoor swimming pool plus sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We ate very well in the restaurant. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped.

Royal Scenery in a Natural Treasure Chest

Blois beautifully lines the Loire Valley with a sublime combination of nature and architecture. Standing between Orléans and Tours, two other Loire Valley gems, Blois - the most important city of Loir-et-Cher -enjoys its proximity to the agricultural Beauce area and Sologne forest.

Slate tiles and tuffeau stones, a pattern reminiscent of the Loire Valley, are prominent in Blois and the old town is full of charming houses. Blois train station is near the Gothic Renaissance Castle of Blois, considered one of architecture’s masterpieces. Originally occupied by King Louis XII, it is nowadays partly taken over by the Museum of Art, offering a collection of paintings, sculptures and ancient tapestries.     Blois is a very old historic city with a Royal Chateau and a House of Magic. Very good for families with children. There are many other Castles and a Zoo nearby. All in All, it seemed to be a family oriented, international vacation destination. It was hard to keep up with all the languages we heard !

    Blois is a fabulous town in the Loire Valley with the largest Chateau in the vally to explore. The gardens in the Cathedral are beautiful. The shops and restaurants were beautiful. It is a peaceful town with so much history, and culture to offer.

    Perfect medieval city with a lot to visit and beautiful classic monuments alongside the city center. The view of "La Loire" above the main church is insane. I definitely recommend Fleur de Loire hotel to enjoy your trip. A few michelin restaurants also available.

    A pleasant, town with character.

    A pleasant, town with character. A good base to see some chateaux - its own Chateau Royal isn't spectacular like some, but internally and architecturally is very interesting. There's a good shuttle bus service to Chambord, and Clos Luce (Da Vinci lived there so he's the centre-piece of everything exhibited) can be done by means of a short train trip to Amboise. Blois has some interesting ancient, winding, climbing streets in the historic quarter which are worth exploring, while the town centre is easy to cope with. Cathedral also worth a look. Good for a two to three day visit.

    Beautiful city centre with old town steeped in history. The Saturday market below the ramparts was excellent . Booked for 2 couples at Le Petit Honfleur restaurant - excellent locally grown organic food and lovely hosts

    Very welcoming and friendly. Perfect location for shopping, blois chateau, restaurants. The chateau car park is a 1 minute walk and reception are super helpful with information on charges. The door code works really well to have 24 hour access. The breakfast is really good, lots of options and presented in a room that is very in keeping with the area. The town tourist office is a minute away. Lots of great food options minutes away and great little shops in the town. The welcome and hotel felt very authentic and it is a historic building.
