I’ve visited Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie many times over the...
I’ve visited Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie many times over the last 20-odd years but never stayed here until now. It was a superb choice: close to the cycle route, 15 mins from three excellent bakeries and one minute from the promenade. There’s a good choice of restaurants, ice cream parlours, kiosks and bars within 5-6 minutes’ walk and the two towns just a bit further in the other direction. I would recommend the area to anyone: there are activities for the whole family, for beach fans or people looking for cultural days out. It’s worth going just for the food but the scenery is spectacular with some fantastic sunsets. The weather is changeable but all you need is decent clothing. Top tip: visit Boulangerie Bleue in Saint Gilles for superb bread and some interesting desserts!Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom
