The location was rural and peaceful. We had a seating area outside of our room to appreciate the birdsong and no other noise! There is a lovely restaurant and the evening meal was delicious. The breakfast was fine although the coffee a little disappointing - but passable.

There is something, maybe a "genius loci", here that made our stay memorable. A couple of little things may not have been perfect, but the genuine kindness and generous availability of the manager and the staff, the freshness and quality of the produce served, the feeling of old class, transformed this experience into something we will always cherish. The mattress is of good quality and there are clean pillows sealed in cases in the wardrobe. The breakfast was excellent with lovely crispy croissants and the fruit we twice ordered was top quality: the best strawberries we have ever had, full of perfume. As we visited family and were always invited, we missed the opportunity to dine here.
