Fecamp is a working town, with a harbour and beach.
Fecamp is a working town, with a harbour and beach. The town is compact, with a general selection of shops. We found the location perfect for walks along the cliffs, visiting gardens and eating out. Visit the old abbey where Benedictine was made; it has a lovely cocktail bar in an atrium, with accompanying shop. Also, a lovely walk to visit Les Jardins de Louanne & K. which are worth visiting. We came to Fécamp so that we could visit the Palais...
We came to Fécamp so that we could visit the Palais Benedictine which was definitely worth it. Fécamp is an interesting port town. We unfortunately had terrible weather so it dulled our trip a bit. We arrived latish (9:30pm) in a terrible storm & found that the restaurants which were supposed to be open til 11pm closed at 10pm. We ended up finding a bar that had food so we were able to get something. We walked around Fécamp the next morning, then visited the Palais. As soon as our tour was over we drove to Veules-les-Roses (suggestion of the Fécamp tourist bureau) for the late afternoon & dinner before returning to Fécamp. We stayed 2 nights in Fécamp. In retrospect it may have been better to stay 1 night or visit the Palais from another locale. Quiet place (April), free parking. Visit Palais Bénedictine (or just buy a bottle of B&B!). Make sure to walk to the upper town centre which is different from the coastal area. A charming seaside village that is rich in local and maritime history. Lovely little town, everything is just a walk away. The fishing museum is also a museum of Fecamp and its region and an art gallery, with visiting exhibitions. Take the lift to the top floor for the best views. Really, really interesting and a bargain at 7 euros 100% you have to go to the Palais de Benedictine, it's amazing and right in the heart of town. Samples on offer and a cocktail bar onsite. Plenty of restaurants at all prices, along the waterfront and Le Rex near St Stephen's Church. I'm sorry there was no time to go to the Abbey - bags of history there. And it wasn't beach weather in October but I'll be there next time.Guest review byTravelling KarenUnited Kingdom

The staff were low key but there when needed and polite and helpful. Breakfast was continental and lacking nothing. We could park our motorcycle in the covered secure yard.
