    La Ferte sous Jouarre is a small town within striking...

    La Ferte sous Jouarre is a small town within striking distance by public transport of Paris and EuroDisney. It has good facilities, some pleasant restaurants and an excellent Leclerc hypermarket, and is very close to the pretty Marne valley and the Champagne wine-growing region. It is easily accessible from the nearby A4 motorway between Reims and Paris. We dined pleasantly in the unexpected Oi Sushi Japanese restaurant close to the railway station. The Viollet Le Duc restored medieval castle of Pierrefonds is only an hour's drive away, and well worth a visit.

    Nice little village along the river.

    Nice little village along the river. Some good restaurants and food stores like Carrefour and Aldi within walking distance. Close to tram station into Paris with 45 minutes to train station “Gare Est”. Close to Disneyland.

    Tucked just an hour away from Paris by metro, this quaint town exudes charm and hospitality. Yet, the only hitch? Parking. While short stays are a breeze with free spots, planning for longer visits requires a bit of creative maneuvering. But fear not, for every challenge adds an extra thrill to your adventure in this delightful destination!

    What a fabulous find! The hotel was right out in the country and had spectacular grounds. The staff were efficient and helpful and went out of their way to provide us with a meal suitable for a vegetarian. The Lounge and Dining room were lovely but as the weather was very hot, we dined on the terrace, which was perfect. We were on the top floor and the room was very hot, there was a fan provided. We would definitely stay there again if in the area, but would request a cooler room on the floor below!
