La Ferte sous Jouarre is a small town within striking distance by public transport of Paris and EuroDisney. It has good facilities, some pleasant restaurants and an excellent Leclerc hypermarket, and is very close to the pretty Marne valley and the Champagne wine-growing region. It is easily accessible from the nearby A4 motorway between Reims and Paris. We dined pleasantly in the unexpected Oi Sushi Japanese restaurant close to the railway station. The hotel was right out in the country and had spectacular grounds. The staff were efficient and helpful and went out of their way to provide us with a meal suitable for a vegetarian. The Lounge and Dining room were lovely but as the weather was very hot, we dined on the terrace, which was perfect. We were on the top floor and the room was very hot, there was a fan provided.
