Ideally situated close to Gorges du Verdon and the lavender fields. You have a bus that can take you to the departure site for the hike and take you back at the end of the canyon (after 6 hours one way). I'd suggest spending at least two nights here.
I'd suggest spending at least two nights here. That was my intention, but the weather had another idea. I'd biked to La Palud from Nice (130 km with over 2,000 meters of climbing). However, the forecast for two days out was for rain and 7 C. As the return route has 60-80 km at 1,000 meters, doing that in the cold rain would have been unpleasant. The view over the mountain and gorges from the hotel is stunning. the restaurant is excellent and the wine choice is really good. we enjoyed it so much that we had diner at the restaurant every evening of our stay . why bother going somewhere else ? the staff at the hotel was both very friendly and very effective.
