    We were staying in the facility for family reasons and I...

    We were staying in the facility for family reasons and I have grown in Le Cateau so my review is a bit skewed. I would however recommend to avoid the town until the end of June 2024 as all main attractions (Matisse museum, church, partially the public garden) are closed for renovations. If organised properly, the town itself can be visited within a day without racing. The area is nice for biking (hillery landscape, this is where the racers of the Paris-Roubaix bike race start to hit the stone pavements on the roads...), and adults bikes are proposed by the property where we rented, they however need to be checked before being used.

    Very cosy, clean and comfortable hotel with incredibly hospitable hosts. At check-in we were escorted up the ‘palace stairs’ by the hostess accompanied by a girl in a ball gown, which was very touching. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed - I can't remember the last time it was so cosy to sleep. The beautiful interior and being surrounded by books creates an extra zest in the house.

    Very nice and comfortable hotel! Very friendly staff and extremely reasonably priced! Even my dog was welcome, and my reservations was at a moment's notice. Great breakfast too!
