Le Crotoy is a village we have been coming to for many years. It is a perfect holiday destination with excellent beaches, bars and restaurants. Hotels are good, in particular Les Tourelles and there are many small towns worth visiting. The steam railway to St Vallery and Cayeux is well worth doing. We have been about 11 times to this area and it suits young and old. If you like a quiet and tranquil holiday then this is for you. It is a painters paradise and for lovers of nature too. Everything is on your doorstep as it is a small town. Quite a few events going on in summer that are interesting. Seafood restaurants and good old ice-cream and burgers if you fancy that. Le Crotoy is a lovely little seaside town on the Bay of the Somme. It has a slight air of faded glory which is really charming, perhaps it has seen better days but I really loved its vintage ambience and authentic fishing village vibe. It has some great, updated seafood restaurants and the locals are utterly charming and polite. I have never had so many cars stop for me to cross the street as here. It feels like it is being discovered by Parisians and might be the new Paris sur Mer so I suggest you go there now while it retains an air of innocence and affordability. Lovely little seaside town.
Lovely little seaside town. Stayed close by before for a week and loved it then. Great bars and restaurants especially if you love French fresh fish dishes. A few lovely shops selling local goods and food. Superb views across the bay. Bird watchers would love this place. You could easily stay a week and find plenty to do in the area.
