The is the ideal start and end to a trip to France. No early morning crossings, just a convenient and less busy lunchtime or afternoon crossing, followed by a short drive to Le Wast, a warm welcome and a relaxing evening and superb dinner before setting off the next morning. Beautiful and lovely pet friendly 'home' away from home even tho it was a hotel. We will most definitely stay again as it is only 20+/-minutes to the Chunnel crossing. If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais...
If you are looking for a hotel convenient to the Calais terminals, this is a no brainer: why would you even look at Campanile, Formula 1, Brit Hotel when you could stay in a reasonably priced hotel located in a quiet village? The plus was the quality of the dinner. Better than a Hippopotamus and actually cheaper! My car was in complete security, which is not the case closer to Calais. This is a quiet village location, the drive to Eurotunnel check in took just 35 minutes. The owner and staff were all pleasant and helpful and the room was very good, furnished to an exceptionally high standard, and comfortable. There was a good choice of dinner options and the food and presentation were of a very high standard, and the price was good. Altogether a lovely place to stay in a very relaxing atmosphere. There is a refreshing traditional style of individual welcome and service, being shown personally to the room and ordering the evening meal over pre-dinner drinks in the lounge. The room was very comfortable and spacious and the evening meal and breakfast excellent.
